AN ISLAND IN THE CONTINENT
An Island in The Continent
Documentary
A trip along the 1,300 km long Peninsula of Baja California in Mexico, in which we discover a mythological and magical land, with its own time and Characters. In this film the past, the present and the future are interwined to create a beautiful and unique symphony of the nature, the history and people of the Baja.
After the trip a reflection emerges: Is our civilization at the limit of the existence? Will we be able to live in harmony with nature?

Una Isla en el Continente ( An Island in the Continent) is a film with fractal language which breaks the discursive way of telling, and becomes at times is poetic; making use of images and sounds as a detonator for metaphors; at times it becomes extremely concrete and it denounces environmental and social themes; other times it is contemplative, especially when you are filming and observing a majestic and irresistible 10 meter tall cactus in the middle of a plateau or when you see the infinite ocean from a desert.
This film is a metaphor for what is happening to our world. This fascinating place which is like a symphony but is already missing many instruments. The symphony is still lovely because it is a fantastic piece but, if we heard the original, we would notice that it is dying.
